How to play the new Java Realms maps

Open Minecraft: Java Edition, go to Minecraft Realms from the main menu, and press Configure. Choose Reset World on a Realm slot you are happy to overwrite—or use the dedicated minigame slot for quick minigame installs. You can then pick the map you want from the appropriate Realms categories.

Featured minigames

War Games

By TheWorfer27, Restitutor Orbis, & Aandeel

The post draws a playful parallel with kubb, the classic Swedish lawn game where teams knock over wooden kubbs with batons. War Games twists that outdoor spirit into Minecraft strategy: manage villagers, gather resources, and build an army to outplay the other side—ideal for a competitive session with friends on Realms.

Trident Blitz

By CaptainArgus, beancheesebagel, & ilyshark

A team minigame about building routes toward the enemy while working under a strict block budget. Spend too much on fortifications and you may force your squad into brutal parkour to close the gap—so every block placement matters.

Inspiration: Sunken Stronghold

By Everything_slomo, Hatewon, & wFanta | E404ST

An expansive inspiration map highlighted in the release notes: a monumental castle, regions studded with giant gems, an academy, a mob-fighting coliseum, and an interconnected underground sewer network that hides extra secrets. If you only install one world from this drop for creative reference, the database copy positions this as the headline exploration piece.
